L's Hunger in America Awareness and Food Drive Bronze Award Project

The inspiration for this Bronze Award project was the show on the Food Network called "Hunger Hits Home." In the show, I saw some children are not getting enough food to eat. Some didn't eat for up to three days.

This is a problem because children are growing. They need nutritious food to eat. This is also a problem because no one is helping them. Sometimes, they don't have anything else, at least if they have food they will have the ability to pay attention in school. Free lunch is available, but only during the school year. They also need food programs for holidays and summer.

I remember  lady opened up a food pantry to help these children and their families.

How I feel when I help people is I feel relief. Because when you think of people, we are all connected. you feel what they are feeling. I feel pressure when others are in need or hungry. So when I help people get on the right track, I feel relieved.
